This is a partly true story that happened as it is written here. By a lucky coincidence, 43 original letters from this soldier came into my possession. This enabled me, after much research, to write a story that reflects the truth of these two lovers, just one of countless fates in a time of blinded ideology. The story is about a great love between two young people who had just experienced their first love. The soldier fell on 20 March 1943 in Massejenski, Russia, and was found with a picture of a young woman in his hand. A love that was never to be fulfilled, destroyed by a senseless war that brought many deaths and countless suffering.
